About MS4Front
The Program
The idea for MS4Front came in 2010 after conversations with water resource managers exposed the need to easily capture and manage various aspects of the MS4 stormwater permit program. When Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI) began developing MS4Front, we already had a strong reputation of providing advanced GIS and web development services to create custom application for clients across the US.
The Developer
As an engineering-environmental-technology consultant, HEI has extensive experience in stormwater management and regulatory compliance. Combining those two areas of expertise, MS4Front was launched to offer a robust data management platform for MS4 permittees across the country.
The Product Manager
Joe Lewis, PE
Joe has led MS4Front’s software development and technical support teams from the very beginning. Throughout his career in water resources engineering, he has focused on stormwater management and integrating GIS technology into traditional engineering. His project experience combats flooding and water quality issues using MS4 permit planning, floodplain management, hydrologic modeling, land development review, and GIS and terrain analysis.
One of the most enjoyable parts of offering this stormwater data management platform is talking with users about how to make it better.
